- Crystal J Added December 10, 2023★ ★ ★ ★ ★I love how Gilligan’s is right in the centre of Cairns. The esplanade is so close and so is the main shopping centre. Reception staff were very polite and accomodating to my questions. The pool they have near the deck bar was a neat place to hang out if I wanted to stay in for the day. Bar staff were polite and quick with my orders and the atmosphere was great. I dined there of lunch one day to try the food with a drink and it was good food. I stayed in a hotel room and it had lots of space. Very clean and tidy rooms at this backpackers.
- Sharmaine Added December 06, 2023★ ★ ★ ★ ☆Great hostel, crowd is diverse, lots of young people. Great price for a 4-bed female dorm room. However, music was loud till 3am so this is not the place to stay if you want a quiet night to sleep lol. Overall, great place with great staff.

Very diverse crowd, informal, some people wearing costumes, everyone just dancing and having a good time. I don't remember the last time I laughed so hard. It is an attraction on its own, worth checking it out.

Decent rooms they clean daily and make sure the backpackers don't let it get too crazy.
The night life is phenomenal, different theme nights every night, good music, good food.
The travel and excursions counter up front can hook you up with anything and everything exciting around Cairns and beyond.
I had the time of my life because of Gilligan's. - Nea Barabea Added November 20, 2023★ ★ ★ ★ ★Great party hostel! The rooms are clean. The kitchen space is big and there is plenty of communal space. Met some great people here! If you're a girl I'd suggest the female dorm rather than mixed.
The best part is the pool bar. The Gilligan's Sunday session is the best! My favourite day of the week in Cairns.
Music plays until late - 3am - so if you want a good night of sleep, ask for a room on the street side of the building!
